Redicova Managing Director Karen Hardy was part of a panel session on innovation and risk in the face of climate change at the Insurance Council of Australia’s 2023 conference on 12 October.
Some deep insights were revealed in discussions with fellow panellists Geoff Summerhayes, chair of Zurich Australia and New Zealand, and Sam Kernaghan, Resilience Program Director for the Committee for Sydney.
Alix Pearce, ICA Senior Manager, Climate & Social Policy, chaired the session and said ICA had received excellent feedback. Geoff’s comments on leadership “really lit a fire for some leaders in the room”. Sam’s work garnered great interest and several brokers were keen to launch parametric products after being inspired by Karen’s story of establishing Redicova.
It’s a critical conversation as the insurance industry grabbles with managing climate change risks.
